it is thundering gloriously
Today was a day of many things.

In order of occurrence, because it's easiest that way:

1. I will be spending part of next year in either Kyoto or Tokyo for study abroad. I'm not sure which; we'll see. I need to make the decision very, very soon - within a week, really.

2. My parents called me today. My mom's infection is as bad as I suspected it was - they're amputating her left foot below the knee. It's a good thing that they're doing it, because it means she'll be healthier and in less pain; it just sucks mightily that it had to happen. I managed not to cry earlier, though I probably will when I see her.

3. I got a free rug (FGSS is redecorating).

German reggae/dancehall is fun.

And that was all she wrote.

Thanks.

Different programs, really. I'd rather physically be in Kyoto - I think I'd enjoy that city far more - but it looks like the program in Tokyo might be better for me. We'll see.

Well, only abroad the last semester. :( Hopefully you'll be in the vet school next year, natch? Or I'll have an excuse to visit you at Tufts or some such. ^_~

I'm sorry about the amputation, but yay for healthier and less pain!

Also yay for free rugs. I found mine in a throwaway pile in Anabel Taylor Hall this summer.

That's pretty much how it goes - it sucks, but it's better for her.

That's a pretty awesome place to find one. They were just tossing it out?

Yeah. It's a little bit worn and needed a run through the wash, but it's pretty, and I was conveniently in the market for a rug (and unwilling to pay Target's prices).

Thanks. ^^

Yeah. Wherever I end up, I hope to visit all over Honshu, and maybe even Shikoku. *crosses fingers*

Indeed!
